Our History

Founded in Saratoga Springs, New York in 2015, by a group of medical professionals that recognized the clinical burden associated with remote patient monitoring, Cardiac RMS has steadily grown into a national organization.

Cardiac RMS was founded with the mission to deliver the highest quality remote monitoring services nationwide.  We provide, through partnerships with Cardiology practices, CIED remote monitoring and virtual care management services for patients dealing with heart failure, high blood pressure and chronic medical conditions. Qualified professionals manage device transmissions and clinical data using specialized software, and report the findings in a concise, organized manner for interpretation, disposition, and billing.

Cardiac RMS is a Medicare accredited Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF), with the ability to directly bill insurance companies for the technical portion of a remote CIED check. Our remote monitoring staff consists of cardiac rhythm device specialists certified by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE), as well as RN Care Managers.

2013

Rich Glaim, while working for St Jude as a Pacer/ICD Sales Rep, saw that most cardiology offices were not providing, or were struggling to provide, remote monitoring for CIED patients. He identified the need for workflow solutions related to remote monitoring transmissions.

2014

Realizing how important Remote Monitoring was to the overall care and well-being of the cardiac patient Rich and his wife, Nancy Ranney, started a company and began to strategize how to put into action an efficient remote monitoring service for cardiology practices and clinics.

2015

Recognizing the need for additional operational support, Rich and Nancy recruited Tamara Bazar, an RN and a previous associate in CIED sales and clinical support, into the company and Cardiac RMS LLC was officially launched. Cardiac RMS becomes an Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF).

2016

Tri City Cardiology, in Troy, NY, becomes the first client.

2017

Bassett Medical Center becomes the next client and a decision was made to use specialized software to manage CIED remote transmissions.

2018

The company sees controlled growth and makes the commitment to provide the same quality and attention to detail for each new clinic as was provided to the initial clients. Additionally in the last quarter of 2018 there were new hires to upper management in operations, alternative billing models being explored, and the start of a sales force was underway.

2019

Cardiac RMS continues to see growth, which is driven from website inquiries, through social media, and satisfied client referrals.

2020

The COVID-19 pandemic increased awareness and highlighted the benefits of remote monitoring. Cardiac RMS continued to grow steadily and signed and implemented services for several new accounts including NYC HHC (Health and Hospitals Corporation) in a very short time frame. We expanded our clinical team by adding a VP of Clinical Operations, Maryellen King. We also started to explore other care offerings such as RPM, CCM, PCM and TCM.

2021

We hired a Director of Organizational Development, Shani Cress, to head up the new RPM and care management service line. The first RPM customer signed in November. Merger talks with Heart Watch Solutions in California began.

2022

The merger with Heart Watch was completed in early 2022. With this merger, CRMS gained 9,000 new patients and the expertise of Greg Forsyth, founder of Heart Watch. Steady growth and new software development continues through 2022 with expansion of both the clinical and the sales team.

2023

Cardiac RMS joined DocGo – one of the largest providers of mobile healthcare services in the US and the UK.  This marks a significant step in our growth, enabling Cardiac RMS to broaden our virtual care offerings with both On-Demand and ambulatory care services, and provide even greater value to our partners.

2024

We added new extended service lines, including a CIED nursing support program, extended billing services, and a stand-alone patient engagement service. We also expanded our Virtual Care Management offerings, reflecting a growing trend in healthcare toward providing more accessible, patient-centered, and technology-driven care.
