As the Vice President of Clinical Operations, Maryellen is responsible for the ongoing development and oversight of clinical services provided by the company. With a long career in nursing, she has held positions as a bedside critical care nurse, a nurse educator and clinical nurse specialist for critical care, and as a care manager for a heart failure program. Maryellen holds a post-master’s certificate as an adult and geriatric nurse practitioner. She spent over 10 years as a nurse practitioner for Capital Cardiology Associates, a large private practice in upstate NY. It was here that she gravitated towards electrophysiology and cardiac device management and developed a robust remote monitoring program for the practice. Her responsibilities broadened to include management of the Device clinic, the MCOT/Holter department and the advanced practice team. She remains excited by the evolving technology surrounding remote delivery of care and the opportunities it presents for patients, caregivers and providers. In her free time, Maryellen enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She and her husband are “backyard beekeepers” who love sharing the delicious local honey the bees produce.
